People who read this or follow this page may not know this, but I do entertainment related things. I’m not going to promote myself, however, with me doing that kind of stuff it only makes sense to do RESEARCH. By research I mean watching others and learning. Not all research is goofing everything or having a secret source. If you ever want to truly learn anything sometimes you have to find things yourself. Or use other bits of information you get from other things and apply them to your experiences. Because at the end of the day EVERY LIE HAS A BIT OF TRUTH IN IT.

So as someone who is learning before doing, my intention with this page is share what I find.

I watch a lot of different videos, listen to different podcast, follow situations and one situation is a Youtuber, Spoken Reasons. (I’LL LINK EVERYTHING TOGETHER BY THE END.) The music industry and the entertainment industry are in my opinion not separate. They at some point intertwine and one of those points is manipulation.

This Youtuber was rising around 2010. He had millions of views and was making good money. He got a role on a movie with big name actors, but everything hit the fan.

I watched his videos all the time when I was younger. I thought it was so cool to see to see a black man doing his one thing and coming up in the industry. He is extremely gifted. He is a multifaceted entertainer..... so how did things go so wrong?

He moved out to LA, and he let things get to him. Lucky, he was able to catch himself because of his pride, but everything is starting to make sense now.

Recently he appeared as a guest on a podcast, Righteous and Ratchet. And the two comedians of the show asked him questions about his career. But one part stuck out to me and I wanted to share.

Spoken Reasons (SR) talked about how everything was going well. But, one day he woke up and the ads on his videos were gone. He went from making 60k a month to making around 2k. All because he was seen as a threat to the entertainment industry. He was a black man coming up and dominating. Executives don’t like people they can’t control. So they hit him where it hurts. After his ads were gone he moved out to LA to start working for a new comedy channel startup. The channel was owned by Russell Simmons and some other guy I don’t remember. But they are big moguls in the music industry and they had retired. They came out of retirement and started this company and they were going to build it around SR.

SR’s manager told him he should go to LA and so he did. While he was there though he didn’t get a say in the creative control of the videos he as doing. He was just a mascot. Someone they knew had a following, so they used him to start the business. He fell into the troubles of drugs and he began realizing the people he was surrounded with didn't care about him. They cared about the power he had.

Not only were the people he surrounded himself against him, but he ads being removed and him going out to LA was all calculated.

While he was there they made sure to keep him busy in meetings so that he couldn’t do it all. He was getting scripts for movies and he turned them down because he wanted to keep making videos and doing his own thing in addition to the other opportunities. But the people in charge hated that so they distracted him from doing things his way. He had too much power and they saw that, so they took away the ad money and kept him busy. He started realizing what was going on and declined movie scripts among other things.

He then moved back home and left LA. Now he’s happier.

But, why did I say all this?

I have posted in the past about LA and the effect it has on the people there. It hit me while I was listening to that podcast that Ed has mentioned how LA is. He doesn’t even live there himself. And that’s when I realized not many big artist reside in LA. Maybe that have a house there or they go visit, but they don’t stay there.

And that's because like Ed, SR, and even Camila have admitted that its toxic there. Nothing good comes from that environment. Each industry is ALL ABOUT CONTROL. When executives realize they can’t control you, they must destroy you or keep you distracted.

It’s either their way or the highway.

Most people know something is fishy with the music industry and this proves it AGAIN. There is a ton of evidence already. So if this is happened to a guy on Youtube, what could be happening to even bigger people who don't have enough power to control what happens to them?

This is when we start seeing the censorship of artist and actresses. They are told not to do something or risk their career. The industry threatens their workers and it works. Once someone takes your money that’s it. Money isn't everything, but you can't do much without it.

PR relationships and constant cover ups may suck to watch or listen to, but it’s the only way celebrities can keep doing what they want.

Celebrities either have to earn their right to say no or they have to create something and stick to their guns. People like Beyonce and Jay Z played their cards right which is why they answer to nobody but themselves. They own their music, have their own music service, and even have stakes in a basketball team and Uber.

But people like Taylor Swift, yeah ow she can do somethings, but clearly she’s still fighting for her rights. Ariana Grande still answers to executives. Her strings are loose like Taylor’s, but she isn't on her own yet. So when it comes to artist like any member of fifth harmony, Shawn Mendes, Demi Lovato, etc. The assumption that just because they have a following or money, they get to decide things, is false.

Because they don’t own anything, EVERYTHING can be taken away at a moments notice.
